Well, after a really sucky Admirals loss, at least here's something to laugh at.
The real story behind (pun intended) the shot is on January 13th this season Max Noreau shot the puck through the net for the second time in 6 months and the net was being checked for holes.

A little belated post from Sunday, Derek Armstrong gets the hat trick against the Houston Aeros. Armstrong would go on to score another goal and a shootout goal in the loss to the Aeros.

In light of the disappointing lack of offense that is the Houston Aeros, I give you the one thing I can at least look forward to tonight. I'll be in 113 as usual to shoot the game.

Last season, Milwaukee Admiral Hugh Jessiman scored one of the most improbable goals of the season against Jimmy Howard and the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Two unsuspecting suspects threw down on December 29th of this season, with Chicago Wolves' Arturs Kulda (with an already bloody nose from earlier on the shift) taking on Danny Irmen and winning in convincing fashion.

Akim Aliu's first (and so far) only post-season goal, coming against the Milwaukee Admirals in Game 1 of the first round of the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs. Rockford would be swept by the Admirals in the series.

First post/Welcome
First off, a little background. I currently shoot for a pair of blogs related to AHL teams in Admirals Short Shifts (Milwaukee Admirals) and The Third Intermission (Houston Aeros), along with guest appearances in the Houston Chronicle, Ms. Conduct, and InGoal Magazine.
Why another blog? Because each of the above blogs have specific focuses which leave a large number of quality photos unseen, I wanted to come up with a way to showcase images which otherwise would not see the light of day. In theory, I hope to post a different AHL photo each day, and due to the wonderful scheduling, the photos are limited to the Western Conference (minus the Rochester Americans).
Anyway, without further adieu, the blog's first photo, showcasing the Chicago Wolves wonderful mascot, Skates, who in my opinion is probably THE best mascot in the AHL (although Hammy from Rockford ranks up there as a close second for me).
